Cranberry and Strawberry Jam

Buying jelly is a rip-off. It’s usually full of high-fructose corn syrup and very little fruit. You can get something way tastier for your money’s worth by making your own. It’s super easy. Do you have a bag of frozen fruit? Do you have some sugar or orange juice? Ta-da, that’s all you need.

I like making my own jam since I’m one of those odd people who prefer to make something rather than buy it. It is really incredibly simple. Here’s what I did in fifteen minutes this morning:

Kate’s Homemade Cranberry-Strawberry Jam

1 cup frozen cranberries

1 cup frozen strawberries, quartered

3-4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons water

Put a little water in a sauce pan, add fruit and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer until the cranberries have broken down to the consistency you like. Let cool. Ta-da! This would be awesome with blueberries, cherries or mangoes. Dream big!
