Yes. Homemade microwave popcorn. No longer will I suffer under the tyranny of crappy storebought microwave popcorn with its weird flavors and absurd amounts of grease and salt!!
This is embarrassingly easy. The only trick is finding a paper bag to make it in. I used the bag my Evan Williams came in, though I’m not sure those bags are technically food safe. Maybe you should find some proper lunchbags. Anyway.
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
1 tablespoon canola oil
Butter, salt as desired
Find a paper bag. Mix up popcorn kernels and oil in bag. Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Take out as soon as you hear 2 second gaps between pops. Add melted butter and salt, and, as the French say, viola!
